Dear World See What I See My Vegan Path eBook Shanti Urreta Reviews

I'm always interested in hearing of others journeys, thank you for writing of your journey. I cherish the idea of seeing my life as a journey. One upon which I am learning all the time; physically, mentally & spiritually. I embrace the "good" with the "bad" & have come to realize that a lot of how I perceive, honor & hold onto the teachings of my journey is by how I react to the "good" and the "bad". I have the power to choose not only HOW I react to anything that comes my way, but also what do I then DO with that information, and possibly how do I then pass it along.

Shanti's book, to me, is about this. Shanti's reaction to what has confronted her on her journey. I praise her ability to be true to her beliefs and to gently share them. To teach is a great honor, to teach well is a blessing for us all. To read this book is to have been blessed by meaningful teachings.
Terrific book, very heartfelt and good information in here. I recommend reading this book and opening your mind to a new consciousness.
This book allowed me to see reality from a different perspective. It has inspired me to make changes. The author's journey it's an opportunity to reflect about compassion in life. Easy to read.
This book is a great read for both vegans and non-vegans. It will open your eyes to see how society is affected as a whole by the exploitation of animals. Shanti's journey will inspire you to look within yourself and make a change to a better, healthier lifestyle, both physically and mentally.
Dear World,
Read this book. If you have questions regarding health, spirituality, the world's violent state of mind, right and wrong, ethics (yours and the world's), read this book. You will find the answers. I am vegan and even so, I still had questions answered, which brought a certain amount of peace to me. Read "Dear World, See What I See" and find your own peace. Reading it will open your eyes and then you can ask yourself, "What do I see?" And, you will know you do have the power to make a difference. Thank you Shanti.
Compassionately,
Ellen
On August 13, 2008, I spent a good part of my day on life support, skilled surgeons giving me a new lease on life,
as new arteries were attached to my heart.

It was my conscious decision to lead a fast food lifestyle, replete with high fat, carbohydrates, foods that made my body acidic. Open Heart Surgery was the consequence. It was not until I read "Dear World See What I See" by Shanti Urreta that long standing questions about how, why, I had to have my chest opened to save my life were answered.

Within the pages of this book I became aware of what a healthy lifestyle really is all about, and why it is critical to understand our place among the rest of the animals of this planet. This book changed my life...now it is your turn.
After more than a decade of semi-vegetarianism and living on a spiritual path that involved reading spiritual books, attending workshops and fasting, I considered myself a pretty conscious and compassionate guy. YET, I still drank cow’s milk and ignored some of the cruelty that I had heard about over the years about these slaughterhouses. I also ate fish that suffocated out of water. “Where was the compassion, love, Oneness, or spirituality in that?” This was the question that came up for me, as the book activated some introspection.

What Shanti’s book, Dear World, See What I See did for me was wake me up out of my unconsciousness and face a reality that I quite honestly, didn’t give enough attention to. The reality was that my diet lacked just as much consideration for other beings as those carnivores that I often judged.

The fact that cows are artificially inseminated by handlers who just ram their fists inside of the wombs of cows without anesthesia is terrible! Even worse, once the babies are born, they are just ripped away from their mothers and the process is then repeated to keep their milk supply coming. Also, fish taken out of the water can no longer breath. I always knew that. Yet, I locked in my brain that their deaths weren’t so bad. The more I read, the more I began to face reality and the fact that I wasn’t really practicing what I preached.

I am so glad I came across Shanti’s book. It is a great book! Simple, factual, easy to read and understand, and the thread of true compassion and love that streams in the background of each line can be felt through the hands that hold the book and through the finger tips that turn every page. This book inspired me to experiment with being completely vegan for the month of January (because frankly I didn’t think I could stop eating NYC Pizza or egg-white omelets). To my surprise, I not only learned how easy it was (as Shanti said it would be), but how exciting and fun it is to try new recipes and eat a huge selection of foods that are plant-based.

But most of all, I sleep better at night and walk taller in the day knowing my efforts to be loving and compassionate are more authentic these days. I remain to be vegan and can’t see myself going back to my semi-vegetarian ways. The acknowledgement that animals have feelings just as we do and their desires to not suffer and to do what comes naturally to them is just as strong as ours, is what makes Shanti’s book a must read for everyone. She really drives that message home. In addition, she provides many resources, recipes, tips and suggestions to give the reader some direction on the journey to a more compassionate life. It's a quick and easy read and it's very powerful!
